Tyler Perry has a Dream of Inspirational TV and Inspirational Ads
ByI have heard of the show Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, but never seen it. What I did not realize was that this 39 year old was living in his car and now ranks as Forbes’42nd most influential Hollywood celebrity.
I just saw him on an interview on CNN and he shared his dream – to own a cable network. What interested me was when he said, “whether people watch for five minutes or five hours they will be inspired – Through both the programming and the commercials!”
An entire network available for uplifting advertising? I am rooting for you Mr Perry! Go for it.

That would be so great! I agree with Perry, there is definitely a benefit to uplifting entertainment, something we increasingly lack. It would be incredible to see a network that focuses on the positive influence media has, and doesn’t give in to horrible entertainment just to make a buck. I hope he creates it…and I hope he keeps it “inspiring”!

My sister and I actually watched two Tyler Perry movies this weekend, which is really random, but they were really good! I think he is totally capable of creating his own inspiring cable network that could even include quality advertising. His movies often discuss difficult real-life scenarios, and motivate audiences to overcome such issues ethically. His films also conquer certain social stereotypes. If the same values Perry demonstrates in his films could be shown in ads it would be fantastic for the public and the industry.

I think individuals like Tyler Perry help us realize how much one person can do. No, we all won’t have TV shows and movies, but a little inspiration like his dreams and aspirations can go a long way. Even if he doesn’t realize his goal, just by bringing attention to the issue, he can help other professionals in the industry focus their talents on good, inspiring advertising!

My dad has worked with Tyler Perry before. He said his work reflects his personality. He’s apparently a really great guy so I’d like to see this stuff happen. He has a major influence on his viewers and his hugely successful so it’s great that someone who can reach so many is looking to do something positive and reinforce many social values.

That’s really cool that your dad has had the opportunity to work with Tyler Perry and that he has the personality to back up his network. It seems like so many times when people gain power they tend to go crazy and loose sight of what there dream was. For anything in life it is important that whatever you say or do you must reinforce it with your actions and personality. That makes Tyler Perry a testament to the reality of positive advertising and media influence. Hopefully others will look to him as a role model.
