MADD Ads

Posted by: | Comments (1)

Drunk driving is something that has affected me in a person way, so it is something that I stand strongly against.  I think that MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) does a great job with their campaigns against driving drunk.  They are not afraid to shock people and make them cringe.  If MADD didn’t make people cringe at the sight f their ads, they wouldn’t be as effective.  Drunk driving is a serious problem among young people in this country today, and I think that ads from groups like MADD should be seen more.

Check out a few of the MADD ads:

Boost Mobiles long armpit hair

Posted by: | Comments (0)

This commerical by Boost Mobile just seems very irrelevant and the first time i saw it i was extremely grossed out. At the end I See and Get the point but what a STRANGE way to go about that. Is it really necessary to have a girl with armpit hair 10 ft long waving in some guys face saying this isnt wrong but paying to much for you cell phone is, its called personaly hygine and it is not normal in our society to have long armpit hair. We might have understood the humor of long armpit hair if the commerical was atleat for a product that dealt with personal hygine. Who do you think their demographic was for this ad?? If it was the shock effect they were going for it sure worked but not in a good way it shocked the people from wanting to hear anymore about this product!!!!

octuplets-mom-asks-for-donationsThis article before getting to this point discussed the mother of the Octuplets and how obvious it is that she only had this many kids in order to become famous and to be “Sponsored” by all different types of brands that want to be seen. But what are these brands Supporting??? This woman is in NO place to be having 8 more kids after she already has 6 under the age of 8 and does not have a stable life. However it seems like anyone will do anything to get a free ride these days and as a brand this is not the things that we want to be promoting! “And, hey, TLC? You need to think about what, exactly, you’re selling.” adage If the family needs thing donate it to give them these objects that they need but you do not need to be putting your name with these products! What are yalls thoughts should brands support the mom of the Octuplets????

pillpackpopup-1The FDA and 27 attorney general ordered Bayer to produce a six-month, $20 million corrective advertising campaign for the birth control pill Yaz. The FDA decided that Bayer’s marketing and advertising for Yaz was deceptive and made false claims regarding its efficacy for acne and pms. The company’s corrective campaign started in late Janurary and is scheduled to end July 26.

However, I wonder whether requiring more ads for this pill is really much of a punishment. Consumers most likely will not realize that the campaign they are watching was a corrective ad that Bayer was forced to run. Wouldn’t it be a better punishment and greater deterrent to restrict a company from running ads for a certain period of time? Furthermore, I usually find the promotion of pharmaceuticals questionable in the first place. Maybe ads for birth control aren’t as bad, but campaigns for various drugs often seem odd to me. If you need a certain kind of medication shouldn’t your doctor simply be able to inform you of that, not a television commercial.
