The Foundation for a Better Life
ByThe Foundation for a Better Life has tons of billboards and print ads like this and I think its very cool. As someone who drives a lot, I always find myself staring at these billboards longer than I should whilst driving. I think that when it comes to virtuous advertising, the FFBL has a great mission in inspiring people to be proactive in their own lives. There are many other examples of this stuff on their website values.com. There is a link to connect with them on facebook and on twitter and they have a lot of cool information and examples of their ads.

I agree I really like this ad. And with this blog being about virtuous advertising I think it fits perfectly. There’s nothing better, in my opinion, than seeing an entire campaign dedicated to trying to better people’s lives.
I love the picture as well I think it applies to multiple demographics, especially with the peace sign. The peace sign image is one that crosses all generation barriers in my opinion. Plus this ad makes people our age, about to finish college, pause and think for a moment about our lives.
We’ve all have dreams but it is so so hard to follow through with them sometimes, and this just reiterates how important it is to never give up.

I agree with Liz. I think this is so cool because I feel like when I am driving around I am constantly bombarded with obnoxious ads that are yelling at me to buy something or those AWFUL billboards that say “IF YOUR READING THIS YOU SHOULD ADVERTISE HERE!”. Reading a quote by Winston Churchill thats as simple as “never, never, never give up” is so inspiring and especially if your having a bad day or having a tough time with something this ad could reach out to so many people and improve their day or situation dramatically because they are likely to be thinking about their problem while driving and when they see this it would make them feel like its speaking solely to them. I think there should be more organizations like the FFBL that make it their mission to improve people’s lives by giving them the boost they need.

For a regular advertisement, I do not think that billboards are the most effective way to present a campaign. Even it is creative, extravagant, or something 3D, I wouldn’t necessarily look at it long enough to find out the product.
However, this campaign is simple, yet effective. When you’re stuck in traffic and frustrated or late and in a hurry a nice reminder like this will brighten your day. It could also go beyond yourself and you might even tell your friend about it. What a great message to strive for your goals, even if it’s little, don’t give up!
