Sun Chips
ByFirst of all I’ve never seen any Sun Chips advertising, at least none that I can remember. But how cool is this? Sun Chips 10 oz bags will be made out of compost, so they are 100% biodegradable. What an awesome step for Frito-Lay to take to reduce their carbon footprint. I think this goes beyond not just positive advertising but responsible business practices. I hope that the rest of Frito-Lay chips will follow suit and also switch to compostable bags. Check out Sun Chips website www.sunchips.com

Christina, that is a very cool ad. I think it really hits the nail on the head for Sun Chips and will really continue to promote their green image. While I haven’t seen many Sun Chip ads either, I think that this one is very worthy of being on TV and will definitely grab people’s attention.

I love, love, love this Sun Chips ad. I think this is one small step Frito Lay is making, and depending on how this is received (i assume it will be very well) then they will most likely go on to create biodegradable bags for all there products.
I was so surprised though that this is the ‘first biodegradable chip bag.’ With all the amazing technology that we have I can’t believe that this hasn’t been done sooner.
Every small step helps.

Aloha
The bags are not made from compost, but from starch derived from plants. They will compost when put in the correct environment such as a compost pile. Please get your facts strait as your incorrect statement leads readers to beleave the bags are made of compost and that’s not a selling point it’s incorrect.
Thank You.

I really love this ad as well. I hope this campaign goes well because, like Liz said, it would be amazing it all chip bags were made from the same material.
Now I feel that I must respond to Mr. Young’s comment. While it may be that these bags are only made from starch derived from plants, it is still a much better kind of material to put out into this world compared to the kind of bag they used before. And if the bags are disposed of properly (which they should be) then they will compost in the desired manner. I see how the commercial may be somewhat misleading, but regardless, Sun Chips is making an improvement on the packaging of their products to better help the environment. If all companies aimed to do this, there could be major improvements in the kind of waste we put out into the world.
Also, Mr. Young, I know you said for us to get our fact “strait” and not lead readers to “beleave” something wrong, but I feel that I must tell you that our readers will most likely think the facts are STRAIGHT and would BELIEVE those who understand correct grammar and spelling. Thank you.

Couldn’t have said it better myself Elizabeth.
