way to go, Walmart!

By

This is just ANOTHER example of what great work Walmart is doing… how heartfelt, warm, sweet, loving, and especially responsible, yet again.

I respect and appreciate Wal-Mart so much more when I see campaigns like this one, that has nothing to do with “rolling back prices”. The company could have easily feaured their yellow smiley face icon featuring the new X-Box or DVDs that are on sale. But this commercial just shows an important point that the focus of the holidays should be on loved ones- even if those people are countries away. I say good job Wally World!

I think you’re exactly right. It’s when the company takes a step back from their strict regimen of “money seeking” and contributes to the good of society. From this positive portrayal of family values and love, consumers, in return, will appreciate Walmart just like you said.

Wow, to think that maybe advertising is ACTUALLY trying to make a positive name for itself?!

WOW! What a moving commercial, I totally love it. I agree with you guys that this ad is very memorable and positions Walmart as a company that DOES care about people and family values, not necessarily as the company that cares only about every day low prices. Moving away from the pure “money aspect” of Walmart to a more “emotional aspect” is a great way to attach personality to the company which has long been criticized for unethical behavior. Furthermore, I like the commercial itself – it is surprising, interesting, emotional and perfect for the holiday season. Great job Walmart!

I think this is a great ad. Wal-Mart keeps their name out of it until the end, and it really does promote thinking of others before yourself, nor is it trying to demand people buy from them. I think this is also a great way to remind people that there are troops serving for us now who deserve our gratitude.
I hope to see more ads like this in the future, from other companies! By promoting kindness and values Wal-Mart really has begun to change some of the negative opinions about them being uncaring and taking over the world with cheap goods.
