Tom’s Shoes goes national!
By Lisa TeagueI had to do a double-take when I saw this commercial… actually, I rewound it
AT&T is featuring Tom’s Shoes in their latest commercial!!
I really don’t have a whole lot to say (probably because it’s nearly midnight and my brain is fried from wrapping up final projects) but thought everyone would want to know.

Yes, if you look at my comments it is posted on there. They went national a few weeks ago with AT&T during the BARE YOUR SOLES event and have been going strong all over the nation ever since. I am so excited they are spreading finally.

Lisa, thanks so much for posting this! I placed this ad in a comment on an eariler post about TOMS Shoes, but I am so glad to see it given its own post. Something I really love about this ad, and mentioned in my earlier comment, is that it isn’t the typical cause-related marketing campaign. Instead of AT&T saying, “hey, we give x dollars to x charity,” they are publicizing and sponsoring TOMS shoes by featuring them in an AT&T ad spot. This simultaneously helps both AT&T and TOMS, and makes me have a greater affinity for both! Hopefully we will see more examples like this in the future as opposed to the “hey look at us! we do good!” ads that leave me feeling a little uneasy.

Okay, so maybe I need to do a better job keeping up with comments! LOL! In my defense, I NEVER miss a post
I completely agree with both of you. It’s great that AT&T is spending part of their advertising budget in this manner… creating awareness for a wonderful charity and at the same time showing how AT&T is helping to support such causes without patting themselves on the back.
Now I’m happier than ever I chose AT&T as my cell phone provider

I was so excited when I saw this commercial for the first time. I think this is a great cause and the fact that it is connected to Southern Methodist University makes it even better! I think it is so smart of TOMS Shoes to team up with a big company like AT&T. It’s great when big companies can help out smaller companies that are working for a cause.

I think a lot of charities would like to team up with huge corporations like AT&T; TOMS Shoes got lucky! Not that they’re undeserving… I don’t intend to imply that at all. But there are a lot of excellent charities that would kill to be promoted by one of the largest companies in the world.
Kirby, your comment started me thinking: I wonder how TOMS Shoes did it? Someone at that organization deserves a raise
