Milk, Live Well in 2009

Posted by: | Comments (5)

Milk’s new campaign is Live Well in 2009. I think this is very uplifting and sends a good message to the public. Throughout the commercial there are different messages that pop up like “seek well” and “dream well.” I think that it is good that Milk is changing their image a little. Typically when you think of Milk you think of “Got Milk?” and that campaign pretty much defined the brand. This new approach sends a different message and even though “Got Milk?” wasn’t negative in any way, this is 100% positive and heartwarming to see!

VISA Olympics: Come Together

Posted by: | Comments (1)

While looking for another VISA ad, I came across this one. I remember seeing this commercial during the Olympics last summer and really felt it captured the spirit of The Games… celebrating what we all have in common rather than allowing our differences to divide us. I loved this message! I remember rewinding it for my kids and expounding on it. (Of course, I wasn’t nearly as eloquent as Morgan Freeman. :D )

Although The Games are over, the message is still important… and this ad still gives me chills!

truth in advertising

Posted by: | Comments (0)

I really enjoy the “truth” campaign as I think they are both effective and for a great cause. They did a great job reaching our generation with their blunt and straightforward messages. I think that we often turn off receptors when ads come on and these definitely are attention grabbers. I hope to see more high-quality campaigns with good messages like this one.

Target promotes a new way of life

Posted by: | Comments (0)

I know a lot of things that we have posted have been related to the economy but unfortunately it is top of mind right now and as I have stated in a previous post advertising is reflecting that.

Target never ceases to amaze me. I have always loved their commercials because they are clever and visually appealing. Not that target needs to do anything to get me in there because I am in there at least once or twice a week but I still enjoy watching.

This recent target ad is so clever and very reflective of the times.

The message it presents is since we are all hard pressed for money we reinvent the way we do things. We should come up with cheaper alternatives that are just as great. We do not have to feel down because we cannot do all of the things we used to do.

The ad presents a great message and promotes it’s cheaper alternative products for a new lifestyle and a new time.

Genius!

Dove Evolution

Posted by: | Comments (5)

Another “oldie but goodie” commercial, but one that fits perfectly in a site called AdVirtues.

The first of its kind, this ad demonstrates how the beauty industry deceives its consumers. Girls being raised with such unrealistic perceptions of beauty can develop very negative self-images. It was high time someone SHOWED the truth!

Could any website dedicated to virtuous advertising be complete without this commercial?? With its message that the best things in life can’t be bought, this campaign was not only heart-warming, but highly effective. It served the company and the community, which is the definition of advertising at its best.

Boost Mobiles long armpit hair

Posted by: | Comments (0)

This commerical by Boost Mobile just seems very irrelevant and the first time i saw it i was extremely grossed out. At the end I See and Get the point but what a STRANGE way to go about that. Is it really necessary to have a girl with armpit hair 10 ft long waving in some guys face saying this isnt wrong but paying to much for you cell phone is, its called personaly hygine and it is not normal in our society to have long armpit hair. We might have understood the humor of long armpit hair if the commerical was atleat for a product that dealt with personal hygine. Who do you think their demographic was for this ad?? If it was the shock effect they were going for it sure worked but not in a good way it shocked the people from wanting to hear anymore about this product!!!!

octuplets-mom-asks-for-donationsThis article before getting to this point discussed the mother of the Octuplets and how obvious it is that she only had this many kids in order to become famous and to be “Sponsored” by all different types of brands that want to be seen. But what are these brands Supporting??? This woman is in NO place to be having 8 more kids after she already has 6 under the age of 8 and does not have a stable life. However it seems like anyone will do anything to get a free ride these days and as a brand this is not the things that we want to be promoting! “And, hey, TLC? You need to think about what, exactly, you’re selling.” adage If the family needs thing donate it to give them these objects that they need but you do not need to be putting your name with these products! What are yalls thoughts should brands support the mom of the Octuplets????
