Cheetos leaves a bad taste in my mouth

By

While this commercial is funny initially, it kind of left a bad taste in my mouth. First of all I think the cheeto dust that is rubbed on the back of “Rach’s” white blouse is just unappetizing. Plus the commercial is just mean spirited and definitely does not promote any kind of behavior you can be proud of. There are a lot of ways to be funny, and I think that Cheetos could have created a humorous ad without making it so unkind. What do you think of this commercial?

Wow, in the world of advertising virtues, Cheetos has none of that. It was strange to see a commercial so anti social responsibility when all of the other ads such as AllState are popping up everywhere because of the economy. I do agree that it did look gross and didn’t make Cheetos sound the least bit good, who wants such nasty stuff on their fingers? What would have happened if her son had come up first and she got the nasty orange stuff on him. Gross. I feel it furthered the point of anti moral when “Papa Cheetos” said how proud he was of her for be vengeful and vindictive. Why are they promoting such behavior? I’m surprised that it made it off the cutting room floor.

I couldn’t agree with y’all more! This ad fails in two ways… One, in no way does this advertisement do anything to help our society. Instead, it teaches appalling and immature behavior especially when being shown by adults. I would be extremely embarrassed if I ever engaged in behavior like this, and I really cant imagine my mom engaging in any kind of inappropriate behavior like what is shown in this ad. Secondly, I agree with y’all about how unappetizing the orange stuff looks on that women’s jacket. I am a huge Cheetos fan, and after watching this ad only once, I already like Cheetos less. So needless to say, this ad fails in two ways and probably more. All I can think about is how fast I want to get that women’s nice jacket dry cleaned ASAP!

I agree completely, especially with Cheetos being a food that lots of kids eat i am shocked that they would advertise this type of behavior! I can just see it now a little kid seeing this ad and then being mad at his mom later and rubbing his Cheeto hands all over his Mom. If I was a mom this commercial would make me not want to purchase this not portrayed at messy snack! Poor advertising Message– definitely showing the bad qualities of this product

We all seem to agree that this commercial does a poor job at displaying cheetos in an appetizing way, and it sends out a negative message to a large part of the cheeto audience (children), so what do we think the makers of this spot had in mind when they developed it? Who do you think this commercial is supposed to appeal to? Do you think this spot was just meant to generate the kind of conversation we are currently having or is there a niche market out there that eats this stuff up?
